Hackney's Houses

I've used this phrase before, but each day that passes the reality sinks deeper.  We are in a true "Professional's Market" when it comes to real estate.

Short sales and foreclosures are nothing new, but the numbers we are seeing are a bit staggering.  It's an extremely involved process.  One that many agents have shyed away from because of their complexity and low success rates.  But when you see projections of 25, 30, 40, even 60% of the market could be dealing in distressed property situations in the coming years, you have to make a commitment to serve.

I've done this recently with the Certified Distressed Property Expert designation (CDPE) and have made the commitment to be a professional in this market.  I fully admit that it is with some concern.  These are not easy situations and you are dealing with the human dynamic peeled to its core.  People are embarrased, upset, frustrated, and feeling like they have failed.  Understandably so, but it is what it is.  These are the consquences we deal with as a result of choices we made in years past.  The choice we have though is in how we deal with it.

If we are proactive and find the silver lining, we will all come through this stronger and with more lesson learned wisdom to carry forward.

Hang in there and continue to Follow Your Dreams.
